Tom King, Director

Tom King earned a PhD in history (minor in anthropology) from the University of Florida in 1978. Research for his dissertation, a history of the Seminoles of Florida, included oral history interviewing accomplished by living on a reservation in the Everglades for a year. In 1979 King joined the faculty of Indiana University as assistant director of its Oral History Research Center. He became director of the University of Nevada Oral History Program in 1983.
    In addition to directing the UNOHP, Prof. King offers a graduate seminar in Oral History and is on the faculty team teaching Museology. He was named an Outstanding University of Nevada System Faculty by the Board of Regents in 1990.
