Reno Now and Then

Two UNOHP Books Make Sundance Bookstore's Top 10 List!

Reno's own Sundance Bookstore recently came out with the list of its Top 20 best-selling books for 2008. The University of Nevada Oral History Program (UNOHP) is proud to have two of its publications prominently featured. The UNOHP's Reno Now and Then, authored by Neal Cobb and Jerry Fenwick, grabbed the top spot on the list, beating out many notable books that were popular with both local and national audiences. A hot seller since its debut in mid-November, Reno Now and Then has been a particular favorite in the Truckee Meadows, pairing beautiful new and archival photos with captions that contextualize locations in Reno.

Famiglia e Cucina, which first hit bookstores in 2007, made the list for the second year in a row, coming in at ninth. Part oral history, part cookbook, Famiglia e Cucina includes recipes as well as stories and memories about family history, the cultural importance of food, and time-honored traditions among northern Nevada's Italian-American population.

The UNOHP is excited to have made Sundance's list again this year, and we want to thank the wonderful staff at Sundance for the part they play in helping to promote our publications.
